McCardell goes for 800

The long wait is finally over as Keenan McCardell comes into Sunday night’s nationally-televised game just one catch shy of becoming the 13th player in NFL history to record 800 career catches.

With 799 career catches, McCardell needs just 15 more to move into a tie with former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Henry Ellard for 12th place on the NFL’s all-time receptions list. Only two other active NFL players are on this list, Marvin Harrison (903) and Jimmy Smith (836).

This season, McCardell is with Antonio Gates for the team lead with seven touchdown catches, and he ranks second on the team with 44 catches for 602 yards.
