Ricky Williams growing up a Bolt fan

Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is from San Diego and was an All-America performer at Patrick Henry High School on Wednesday recalled his childhood team.

(On if going back to San Diego still brings him enjoyment) “Definitely. The biggest thing is I grew up a Chargers fan. I can remember every Sunday waking up with my mom and watching the Chargers play.”

(On who his favorite player was) “Little Train” (Lionel) James.

Can’t hate a guy who’s favorite player was Lionel James. Can you?

Since we are talking about Miami, the Dolphins head coach Nick Saban gave an unusual perspective regarding fullback Lorenzo Neal. He was asked if Neal is the prototypical blocking fullback.

“He is really more than just that. He is a really good receiver. They do give him the ball some, but he is very smart and very effective as a blocker, but he is not just a blocker. I think that if you could say this is what we would want in a fullback, I think he has a lot of those characteristics.”

Neal has 124 receiving yards and a touchdown so far this season. In 1996 he had a career high 194 receiving yards and one touchdown.
