Brees undergoes successful shoulder surgery
San Diego Chargers quarterback Drew Brees underwent successful arthroscopic surgery this afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
The surgery was done by Dr. James Andrews. Brees will return to San Diego next week and immediately begin an aggressive rehabilitation program on the road to a full recovery. He is expected to begin throwing in four months and be ready to participate in training camp.
“Though his recovery period is longer than we had hoped for, we couldn’t be happier that Drew is expected to make a full recovery,” said General Manager A.J. Smith.

Sounds like good news. As hard as Drew works, I bet he's throwing again sooner than the Doctors expect.

It seems like most of the time, athletes are not the same after surgery - but you never know- we need brees to get better, unless rivers can man up, step to the plate and perform well! you gotta feel sorry for un-used talent ...

I agree with Terry. Drew will come back better than ever. No one will work harder or do what ever it takes to get back to the playoffs. Let it rip Drew!!

Just best of luck to Drew, he is a dedicated hard working QB who will be back better than ever, with all the rehab he is going to have to do his arm strength may even improve....Too bad he is not tossing balls in the playoffs this weekend but next year will be fun to watch.
