Two new assistant coaches added
Marty Schottenheimer has completed his coaching staff with the additions of quarterbacks coach John Ramsdell and assistant offensive line coach Hal Hunter.
The team had assistant coach positions come available when offensive line coach Carl Mauck and Albert Lewis were released from their contracts. As well as when quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer took the offensive coordinator job with the New York Jets and Offensive Assistant/Quality Control coach Pete Carmichael took a job with the Saints.

It is lovely that we got 2 new assistants whose last name isnt Schottenheimer. Now they just need to get rid of that piece of crap. Horrible coaching, and poor play calling, and just 2 years in a row of not getting the job done have cost the chargers 2 Super Bowl appearances, and a generous estimate of 1 ring. I have been a San Diego Charger fan since the mid 70's, and I have always lived in NJ. I begged the late John Butler before hiring this piece of crap that he was a stone cold loser, and a choke artist, and would bring nothing but heartace to the organization, and its leigons of fans. John ad his mind made up, and hired him anyway, and extolled Schottenheimer's talents and virtues in an email he sent to me. The Spanos' have been great owners, and in recent years rivaled the great Gene Klein. I wish for myself and for all charger fans that they re-evaluate Mr. Shottenheimer, and his knack for always coming up short, and think that they, and we deserve better than a second rate loser whose team has SIX players voted to the Pro Bowl, and cant make the playoffs, after taking down the undefeated Colts.(Which, by the way, I knew we could do, we did it last year, but the cowardly schottenheimer went into the prevent defense to prevent us from winning)
Lastly, I am so glad that it wasn't anyone before us who beat the great(I dont believe he is) peyton manning. And, that we also didn't keep his loser brother, Eli. How dare that family of losers not want to have precious Eli come to San Diego because the organization is't up to their sub-par standards. From every report I had seen, we were looking at Rivers and Roethlisberger 1+2 and Eli third the whoe time anyway. I always knew Drew Brees would flourish, once that horse's ass schottenheimer would let him run the offense in situations other than obvious passing situations. He always let flutie run the offense the way he saw fit, but only let Brees throw on 3rd and 7 or 8, or 4th and long. Tomlinson is one of the top backs in all of football, but to use him effectively, the coaching must utilize a mix of play calling in a random, or at least a non predictible manner, as evidenced by Brees' outastanding sophmore season, and a stellar 2005.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Alex and Dean, Get rid of Schottenheimer!!!!!!
