Bolts interested in OL Ireifej?
A student-operated newspaper at West Texas A&M University, known as The Prairie, reports the Chargers have shown some interest in West Texas A&M offensive lineman Sam Ireifej.
"I am very excited to get the opportunity to work with the San Diego Chargers organization," Ireifej said. "The fact that an NFL organization has showed some serious interest in me is a true blessing"
What position should the Chargers draft first?

i was hoping that the chargers would draft on of the top defensive backs in the draft, but we've signed two knew DBs in the offseason. So what should they draft now, i would select a defensive linemen or try to get the best DB that's out still. Why another DB, so it can push Q. Jammer and D. Florence to do better in the Chargers pass defense. Every year, the bolts are at the bottom of passdef. and it's time this changes. We are the #1 run defense, but if teams decide to throw aganist us, it's like they've found our weakness. I could say that the linebackers and deflinemen could do better in presuring the QBs, but the bottomline is that our defensive BACKFIELD(Pass Defense), NEVER FINISHES AMONG THE BETTER HALF. I stronly believe that if this problem would be fixed, the bolts would defientely be a superbowl contender!!!

Hey how many db bust's in the draft does it take to understand that db's are not a sure thing? Errr.. Quentin Jammer, etc...More pressure and more offense is what will give us a an exciting game. So the draft choices should include more OL or better receivers OR the flip side, another Merriman. Actually that is Mr. Merriman. A team that continually allows 3rd down completions on defense is going to be on the field too long- and eventually the db's will make a mistake...until we draft a db that has panned out as a first round pick- I say we go for the sure thing, and trade for a reputable db.

Jammer was the best corner to come out in that draft class...how is that a bust?
Roy Williams is a safety and so is Ed Reed, so I don't want to hear about them.
The Chargers needed a corner, and they got the best one. He started as a rookie and has been our #1 Corner ever since.

Hey if Jammer was the best to come out of that class, then it was a weak class. When was the last time Jammer won a game for us?...better still when was the last time he didn't get a P.I. to help lose the game for us? A first round draft should start, play, and make an Impact. Jammer is an AVERAGE player who is not an IMPACT player = not a good first round pick.

Jammer single handedly won the Jets game for us in 2005

Ummm T-rex you must not have seen the game against the Jets last season at the Meadowlands. Jammer broke up a game winning last play TD. I guess only true Charger fans watch all the games.

I don't know much about this guy.... so he won't be taken too early. IF he has only received interest from San Diego, they'll probably only bring him in as an undrafted free agent or one of the 7th rounders.

Not only do I watch all of the games, I read the whole quote. An AVERAGE player does not = 1st round pick. Jammer is just that, errr IF that. To give hime credit for the Jets win is like giving Trent Dilfer the MVP for the Raven's Super Bowl win...YIKES!!!!

Beef! The draft has a good selection of OTs at the top and as bad as the Secondary has been I'd prefer to keep the offense running as smoothly as possible by getting some prime beef up front and using the later rounds to address DBs

I agree that we have to sure up our pass defense namely the backfield, however as long as we have the best runningback in football we need to make sure we have the right hogs up front to block for him . I am also sorry to see drew go , but Rivers will also need a sured up O line for his debut season. A good offensive line is the key to us getting back to the playoffs we have LT the best talent in the NFL with him running the ball and us controlling the clock and putting up points there is less time for us to worry about our poor defensive backfield getting burnt. I am not saying our Db's arent putting in the work but I cant remeber the last time someone has said " Man watch out for the San Diego defensive backfield this year" We have always had a solid front 7.

This OL Ireifej out of West Texas A&M has amazing talent. He is being shown strong interest in multiple teams including the Chiefs. This guy is as good as it gets! The Chargers need a strong OL man like Mr. Ireigej and I am many other Sporting Betters from Vegas expect him to be the All Star Sleeper Hit of the NFL Draft.
