Let me try to understand this. We draft two players known for being injured but let known quantities walk for being damaged goods. I'm sure these first two picks will be fine but this is just one more reason why AJ makes us fans cry. AJ, please make us look like idiots again. GO BOLTS!

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. Did I miss something? Last I checked, Eric Winston was supposed the best available OT. His injury history makes him a bit of a question mark but the same goes for Cromatie. McNeill has his own issues (stenosis?), as well as questions as to intensity, a must for a lineman. I'm no A.J Smith, but if I was, I would've taken Winston here (or Justice in the 1st instead).

Geat start to the weekend. It will be great to see a big strong corner work opposite Jammer. McNeill went 42 straight games (not injury prone) without allowing a sack. I'm glad AJ stayed on track and went after the best players for the positions we need.

I like this pick (more than Cromartie). McNeill is a load; Rivers is gonna need some protection. He'll have a year or 2 to back up Oben, so hopefully he can get healthy. I agree with Anthony... we're counting on you, AJ. Please be right again!

I am a Charger fan reguardless of our record. But why do we draft 2 players with injury problems? That is a huge gamble you just do not risk on your first 2 picks. A real bonehead move!

Cromartie will be huge for us, a turnover machine waiting! McNeil hasnt allowed a sack in 43 games? NICE! The QB pick...dumb. Could have picked Anthony Smith, S, Syracuse or Derek Hagan a good WR like Issac Bruce style, from ASU. QB????? Not stoked on Feely? Hahahahahahaha.

McNeill is an amazing run blocking tackle, (if he can stay healthy) pass blocking is questionable. Would have been better to select Justice.

AJ I pray Cromartie is a true shutdown corner we can't stomach another give him the 10 yard pass & hold him when he goes deep!!After letting our O-line coach go to miami our line has never been the same beef it up with quality before LT gets to old!!

good draft the 1st pick could be a reach or could be brillant time will tell. very good skills if he can stay healthy. 2nd pick is good we needed a left tackle bad this could be good. 3rd choice is interesting but we did need a 3rd qb. i like the trade big te who has experience

Have yall seen marcus play live? Well I have (many, many times--i go to auburn), and so has whoever picked marcus for yall. I really hadnt ever given San Diego a lick of thought (i live in falcon country--atlanta) BUT marcus is my favorite auburn football player and yall will know why when he steps out onto the field. he makes his presence known, he's quick, he's enormous, and he's smart. He knows how to play the game.
Just to clear up any misconceptions..he doesn't have spinal steneosis. That was a misconception. He had a back strain from i believe sophomore year because he grew so tall and so fast, i guess his back couldnt keep up. So that was a concern for a while, but he's fine now. Tommy Tuberville and Marcus cleared that with the NFL before the draft, although i have to think that some people may have still thought his condition questionable.
To make a long post (sorry) short(er): Marcus is gonna be AWESOME next year and i cannot wait to be a new fan of San Diego and watch him tear it up on the field!
Have no doubt, whoever chose him, made the right decision. Oh, his character is 100% good too. Note: T.Owens haha

Excuse me i dont know if you can edit your post here but i made a mistake i read something wrong (or it might not be you just never know so many things are said)...marcus did*** have steneosis but he is fine now and it poses no threat to his game. But i think this is where i may have gotten confused it happened when he grew so tall and so fast. Sorry for the confusion.
but get excited!!! marcus is gonna add so much to san diego! He's just got all the personal/physical qualities you could want on and off of the field. I hope yall grow to love him just as much as Auburn fans do!

Thanks for the insight Laura. It is always great to hear from someone who has actually watched the guy play. Fresno Dave might want to do a little more studying before making claims. Yes McNeil is a great run blocker but he is best known for his pass blocking and protecting the QB's blindside. 43 games without allowing his qb to be sacked is a telling sign that he can protect the pass. Very excited to watch him play!!!

Marcus is a dominate player. I have watched him for 4 years pancake player after player. Don't worry about his back, worry about his ability to handle the spin move. When he becomes more techincal sound (not reaching out) he will become the best OT in the NFL.
