Boltcast #6: Oklahoma Drill

In today’s Boltcast we have Marty Schottenheimer, defensive tackle Alvin Smith, defensive tackle Luis Castillo, guard Kris Dielman, and linebacker Shawne Merriman and sound from the trenches of the Oklahoma Drill.

Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer traditionally starts training camp with the Oklahoma Drill, and the drill came at the end of the team's first practice in full pads on Sunday. In the drill, a quarterback hands off to a running back while a blocker and a defender go at it up front in a space only about 3 yards wide.

I love the Oklahoma Drill!

Merriman is a BEAST!!! Thanks for playing the audio from the trenches. Awesome!

Man, I wish I attended today’s practice. How many showed up? It sounds like a stadium full of fans.

Intense, music to my ears. I wish I could have been there to see it, but this audio was a great substitute. Made me feel in the middle of it. Thanks!

I was a little ticked when the Oklahoma Drill started and we could not see a thing because all the media was in the way.

I missed the Oklahoma Drill thanks for the audio. Can you mic up a player during practice?

I have been a Charger fan for 3 years and this is the year that they go to the Superbowl and they are going to win!!!!

I was also disappointed with the way the media crowded the line of scrimmage during this years training camp. To add salt to the wound, they did a poor job covering the Oklahoma drill on tv. Best view of the Oklahoma drill is right here on Chargers.com
