Steve, you are wished a speedy recovery. However, have the integrity to be honest with your fans about this unfortunate incident. You had a blood alcohol level well above legal limits. That is not an OK thing. Do the right thing, Steve, and your fans will love you more for it!
Integrity and doing the right thing goes far in my book!

This is probably best for Steve. He has been getting away with a lot of bs. He is a nice guy but athletes need to know they are not above the law. The fans and media make them feel this way but this is a GREAT REALITY CHECK

We admitted we were powerless over alcohol- That our lives had become unmanageable.

Amazing.... you would think he would risk it all for something that is worth it. I don't know who look worst Lisa or Steve - even when both are cleaned up they look like they are taking mug shots. You can take them out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out ....

Interesting that the club Steve left from is part owned by Shawne Merriman

I think it's interesting that a police officer would follow someone that far. Also, why did it take so long for other officers to respond to his so called radio calls for back up. And why would you fire a warning shot? Police officers don't fire warning shots. How do you get shot in the back of the leg if you're walking towards someone? African-American male plus non African-American female plus a car worth more than a rookie cop's annual salary equals racial profiling and an unjust shooting. I hope the city of San Diego pays him his missed income and I hope he gets help with his drinking problem.

1. Welcome to southern California. Cops with pistol envy, cause they have no other envy. They shoot because they can.
2. Steve, you were in the wrong being drunk. Doesn't say much on how you prize your body for your career. A lesson learned I would hope. May the lesson be learned and you can return to your profession. Oh ya, keep away from Merriman, he's a bad apple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
