Sporting News names LT Player of the Year
Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson named Sporting News Player of the Year.
"The number that best defines LaDainian Tomlinson’s season is 186. That’s the number of points he scored, breaking Paul Hornung’s 1960 record of 176. The Chargers running back was nearly a unanimous choice as Sporting News’ 2006 NFL Player of the Year as he received 18 of 20 votes cast by NFL pro personnel directors. This comes on the heels of Tomlinson being named Sporting News’ 2006 Sportsman of the Year for his accomplishments on and off the field"
The awards appear in the February 5 issue of Sporting News, on newsstands January 31.
