The NFL announced Wednesday that the Chargers have been awarded a third-round and fifth-round compensatory pick in April’s NFL Draft.

San Diego Chargers Head Coach Norv Turner has added Vernon Stephens as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Stephens will assist Jeff Hurd in overseeing the team’s year-round strength and conditioning program.
Wide receiver Malcom Floyd has signed his tender with the team. Floyd ended up on the injured reserve list late last season with an ankle injury.

The NFL Network is doing is a 32-part series called "State of the Franchise". They're hitting on all 32 teams, kind of like a past, present and future glimpse of each franchise. It covers highlights of 2006, free agency traffic, losses, additions, etc. They have already done the Colts and Bears and the Chargers are today beginning at 4 pm. Head Coach Norv Turner is schedule to do a talk back during the show.

The Chargers said all along that they wanted to keep unrestricted free agent guard Kris Dielman in the fold. Saturday morning, they stepped up and made it happen. The Chargers announced that they’ve agreed to terms on a new six-year contract with their starting left guard.
