Posted by on January 28, 2011 – 11:00 PMJan. 29, 1995 – The Chargers play the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX, the first in franchise history, in Miami. San Francisco won, 49-26, behind three touchdown passes from Steve Young to Jerry Rice. Stan Humphries threw for 275 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Chargers rookie Andre Coleman tied a Super Bowl record with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The running game of Coach Bobby Ross complemented with a great front 5. Defensive power from the late Chris Mims ( R.I.P), O’neil, John Parrela, and Rubin Davis. Still AFC champs in my mind.

Still me favorite team of all time, Hands down.. A bunch of “no names” that made it happen and made it farther than any other San Diego team in history. Still impressive in my book.
