Guest Blog: Corey Liuget
Posted by on September 27, 2012 – 4:20 PMThe following was written and submitted by Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget
Even though we lost on Sunday, I’m feeling good about this season. Personally, I’m more comfortable with what’s going on and feel like I am up to speed. The game is slowing down for me and I’m focusing on being very sound technically. I really think I’ve gotten a lot better at coming off the ball, striking guys and handling blocks.
Right now my mind is solely on this game in KC. We’ve got to win this game. We have 16 one-game seasons, so we are taking each game at a time. But I have to admit, I get more amped up playing a division game on the road. These guys are one of our rivals and we need to get through them to get to the playoffs and hopefully win a Super Bowl. That definitely riles me up and makes me want to go play as hard as possible.
When I’m not playing football, my favorite spot to hit up is the zoo. I’ve been about seven or eight times. You’d think I’d get tired of it but I don’t! I love checking out all the types of bears and lions. I always take the VIP line and go feed the animals and everything.
If you guys need a good place to eat, you have to check out Stockdales out by San Diego State University. It’s this soul food restaurant that is my favorite in the city. Their food is amazing. I usually order the fried chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens.
Well that about does it. Hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know a little bit more about me. Keep the faith in us and we’ll do our best to reward you.

Matt Cassel Says ‘A-Game’ is Crucial Against the Chargers
Posted by on September 26, 2012 – 11:31 AMIn today’s conference call with the media, Kansas City Chief’s quarterback, Matt Cassel, believes that playing the Chargers is never an easy match up, always coming down to the wire.
“Every time we play the Chargers we know that it’s going to be a big physical game and you have to come with you’re A-game. They know us, we know them and we know their personnel. The schemes are similar, so it’s one of those things that just comes down to one or two plays here or there. It’s usually the team that makes the fewest mistakes that wins the ball game. It usually comes down to the fourth quarter or overtime, whatever the case may be. It’s either we have to hold them on defense or we have to score, but it’s usually a close game.”
How do you think the Chargers will fair at Arrowhead against the Chiefs this Sunday?

Rivers Ready to Move On to Next Game
Posted by on September 24, 2012 – 4:43 PM
Philip Rivers addressed the media this afternoon and explained why it’s important to learn from yesterday’s mistakes and move on to the next week.
“You never want to play like we did yesterday, but when you do, you definitely have to learn from it and get to the next game because there’s no waiting around and feeling sorry for yourself. It’s a new week, and we know how important it is to win division games. We’re headed into Kansas City, and they’re coming off a huge game in New Orleans. So there’s no time to over-analyze the previous game or sulk, because we’ve got to go on the road and win a new environment. Kansas City doesn’t care that we lost or how we feel. We have to go in there and win that game.”
You can watch Rivers’ complete press conference right here.
So what do you think? Let us know in what area’s the Chargers need to improve upon heading into Sunday’s game in Kansas City.
