I arrived in Indy about an hour ago after taking a red eye flight that will (hopefully) go down as my worst flight in history. Sandwiched between a three-month old and a guy who seemed to have some type of strain of the bird flu is not the way you want to travel.
A bunch of players who will be working out at the Combine were on my connecting flight I took from Atlanta. Most of them were from Alabama and were repping their school proudly. Eavesdropping on their conversation it sounded like they are most worried about the bench press, which I suppose makes sense since they looked like offensive or defensive lineman.
Anyway, long story short, I’m here now and ready to go! After running into Coach McCoy in the lobby, I met up with Chargers Executive Assistant-Player Personnel Chris Hobbs who gave me a quick tour after getting my credential.
Now it’s time for a power nap (after not being able to sleep on the plane) before I head over to Lucas Oil Stadium. I’ll also be hosting a live chat at 2:00pm PST from there on Chargers.com to answer all your questions about the Combine, the Bolts and more.
Catch up with you later.
If you ever need a reminder why San Diego is called “America’s Finest City,” just visit the Midwest in the dead of winter. It is FRIGID out here.
I made my way down to Lucas Oil Stadium earlier but to be honest, there isn’t much going on right now. It’s really the calm before the storm. Most teams are huddled in last minute meetings in various hotels in the area. There is an occasional player you’ll see around roaming the street, but mostly the city is getting ready for a nonstop week of action.
I snapped a photo of the Chargers interview room while scouting out the areas which you can see to the right. This is where the Bolts brass will be interviewing prospects each night.
After grabbing a quick bite I headed back to get ready for our live chat that we’ll be having at 2:00pm PST. Really looking forward to chatting about the combine, Chargers and whatever else is on your mind! Click here to head over to our chat.
